Postcards from Thailand (pt. 2)

Just another Saturday morning

With a beer in my hand

I stand on the brink

Of insecurity feeling

My thoughts spinning

Not winning

this game I’m in.

Inside my mind I’ll stay

Until one phrase

Pushes me over

The edge of sanity

Straight into the bottle.

Sands of time

Passed around

And out without

Emotions hidden

In whiskey dreams

I sleep to forget.
